A disturbing case of attempted sexual assault has been reported from Koyalapatti near Garia station in Kolkata, where a nurse was allegedly targeted by a man who tried to drug and rape her. According to police, the incident occurred at a roadside tea stall where the accused allegedly laced the nurse's tea with intoxicants.
The woman, who began to feel uneasy soon after consuming the tea, managed to raise an alarm. Locals and bystanders intervened, preventing the situation from escalating further. The accused was caught and handed over to the police shortly after the incident.
Authorities confirmed that several items, including mobile phones belonging to both the victim and the accused, were recovered from the scene. These have been sent for forensic examination as part of the ongoing investigation.
The accused has been arrested, and a case of attempted rape and drugging has been registered. Police have assured that strict legal action will be taken and further investigations are underway.
